The trade industries cannot be outsourced.

People who live and work in buildings will always need electricians, plumbers, HVAC/R techs and all of the other workers who bring light and water and comfort to their world. Right now, there just aren’t enough people doing those jobs, and as they retire, there aren’t enough new people coming in. As a result, trade professionals are some of the most sought-after applicants in North America. For example, the Bureau of Labor Statistics says the United States needs 75,000 more electrical workers than it currently has! If you want a job, you can find one. How many degrees can say that?

Trade professions are some of the most fun and rewarding careers that exist today.

When you work as an electrician, plumber, HVAC/R tech or utility lineman, you get to build, maintain and upgrade some of the most important parts of our economy’s infrastructure. Best of all, you get to do it while making a great wage – some of the best in the country – in a casual atmosphere with no suits, no briefcases – just you, your skills and your tools.

Planning the rest of your life can be a big job.
Let us help.

You may not need a lot of college (or the loans that come with it) in order to find the perfect career! Whether you are interested in becoming an electrician, plumber, HVAC/R technician or any other trade careers – one of the first steps is to learn about schools that offer the programs and training you need. Use this handy Trade School Finder to locate colleges near you. Most programs only take a year or two, after which you’re ready to start earning and getting on with your life. In addition, DSG has established the DSG Education Connection Fund to provide scholarships for those who wish to join the trade industries. Click here to download our scholarship information sheet. Become A Donor

No matter what your relationship is to the trades, supporting these industries is now more important than ever. It’s an unfortunate fact that presently young people (and their parents) rarely list the trade professions at the top of their career choices. Your contributions can make a difference.

DSG would like to thank you in advance for your contribution to helping us build a future for all of us. Just by looking at this web site, you’re helping to raise awareness of the shortage of tradespeople and elevate the status of a career in these professions.
